Bob Griffin Bio

Bob with Barry Boyd (d) in 1965 Bob as he appears today -- not a day older!
Bob
Griffin is a KFXM legend, having worked at The Big 59 for three years beginning
in 1960 and another two years from 1965 to 1966. He held down almost every time slot,
including:
· Overnights
· Evenings
· Afternoon Drive
While
Bob always shared his sense of humor with his listeners, few people knew that
Bob is one of the funniest people who graced the airwaves. Everyone who has worked with Bob got an
opportunity to realize what a wonderful friend he was! He is loved by all who have gotten to know
him over the years.
When
asked his favorite hobby, Bob replied, “Motorcycles,” showing very little has
changed in the past 40+ years -- including that wicked sense of humor. He said his second favorite hobby is, "teaching the air guitar
to members of the Taliban.” What he is
not likely to mention is that, as he has for those same 40+ years, Bob stays in
excellent health with regular workouts.
And
to show continued lack of growth, Bob lists his all time favorite group as the
Bee Gees. The obvious comment is that Bob chose the Bee Gees because of his initials. Perhaps one day he will learn
other forms of music – perhaps even taking a trip to Memphis to enjoy the Beale
Street Jazz Festival.
Bob is married to wife Renee, is now retired and still living in the Inland Empire. He has two daughters and one son plus three grandchildren.

"What do you mean I have dead air, Al? Can't you see
I'm playing a Bee Gees song that won't be released
for another TEN years on turntable number two?"
