Biography of Gary “Breakdance” Allen

During his four-year stint in the 1980s with KFXM, Gary Allen was the chief engineer as well as fill-in jock for all dayparts.
Gary worked at KDES in Palm Springs, KUHL in Santa Maria and KSTN in Stockton and KACY, Oxnard, before joining KFXM’s engineering department. When he left, Gary went to KEZY where he was again reunited with his friend, Craig Powers. He later moved to Los Angeles and spent six years at KCBS-FM. He was most recently employed at EZ-103 in Palm Springs.
Born on July 7th in Santa Monica, Gary was raised in LA. He has five children and one grandchild.
To earn his way into broadcasting, Gary went to Fairfax High School, LA City College, the Bill Wade school of Radio & TV broadcasting, the National Institute of Communications and the Sherwood Oaks Experimental College.
