Gene Gleeson today
"My Inland Empire radio experience began with six months at KDUO-FM beginning in September of 1973. I then moved to KFXM and was there until 1966, I actually worked at KDUO, KCKC and KACE at the same time!
"At KFXM, my original shift was midnight until 6am then moved to 6-10pm.
"When I left the Inland Empire I worked at KWIZ in Santa Ana, another Tullis & Hearne station, KDEO in San Diego, the Armed Forces Network/Europe and KFMB-FM in San Diego.
"I then headed across the band and began working for KFMB-TV followed by KGTV, both in San Diego, then onto KABC-TV, Channel 7, in Los Angeles where I’m currently employed.
"A native of the Inland
Empire, I was born in Riverside and attended Ramona High School,
Riverside City College, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State San Diego, and Columbia University in New York City,
with a Masters in Journalism.
"My hobbies are flying, bike racing surfing and skiing.
"My favorite songs are, Hey Jude' by the Beatles and Soul Man by Sam and
Dave. My favorite artists are The Beatles, Rolling Stones and Eagles."

The Graveyard Shift!
"Working Midnight to 6am, the phone traffic dropped off after 2:30am so Mark Denis (K/men) and I would call each other and chat for an hour or so. We would win each other’s contests. I ended up with K/men's albums and Mark went to the movies courtesy of KFXM.
"One night we called the only other all-night operation on the market, KPRO, and
got it's DJ in on the action. But alas, he was too boring, and we dropped him.
After work, Mark and I often meet for breakfast and personally deliver our
winnings."
