People Search for KFXM/KDUO Employees - Methods and Results

Finding former KFXM/KDUO employees is a very challenging task or objective. The best results have come from exhaustive searches on the various Internet search engines like; Alta Vista, Ask.com, Google, MSN search, Yahoo and more. Each search engine has it's own independent methods of searching the Internets numerous Websites then indexing the content in a very large database. A number of search criterias are used to get the desired results. I have literally found over 15+ people who would have never been located if it were not for the Internet search engines. Once a person is located in a given city and state, many times an Internet telephone White Pages search is done. In an attempt to get a phone number to call the potential former KFXM/KDUO employee. The White Pages are invaluable tool to verify that the person is indeed a former KFXM/KDUO employee. Sometimes I have been lucky and found a personal on a business or personal Website. When I find that, I can email and or call the person to make confirmation. I can't decsribe the feeling I get when I have found someone that nobody knew where they were. And to be honest, the former employee is just as surprised that I found them and pleased with what we are doing after being told about the new Website. When you find someone, especially out of state, it's even more rewarding. Also, there's been tremendous amount of support and networking taking place between Bruce Chandler, Jhani Kaye, Helen Jones and others who have gone the extra mile to try and find former KFXM/KDUO employees through the vast LA and out of state radio markets. The people who are found owe a great deal of gratitude to all of us who have used any steps necessary to locate them. The one group that seems to be a "black hole" is the office staff of receptionists, traffic people and the assistants to bookeepers Norine Dixon and Maxine Stillwell. Does anyone have any information on any of these office people?

Here's another way to look at the People Search and the Responses by individuals by category
By looking at the names at the left you will see jst how exstensive the searches and processing have been. Two months ago the total number of names would have compared to the green section on the graphic on the left. That's right, a total of about 25 people who we were aware of and were trying to get biography questionnaires emailed and ultimately processed onto the new Website. We have 25 working bios on the Website. Also, we havean additional 16 people who have been contacted, a bio questionnaire has been sent and ultimately their bios will be on the Website. We also are working on an additional 24 people to make contact and process them onto the Website.
Obviously, the more People we get to go from tan to yellow and yellow to green the better!
What has evolved in the overall process is five defined steps to build the total number of biographies on the Website. The first step is searching the Internet for anyone who has KFXM or KDUO ties to their name on a Website. The second step is locating an email address, phone number or actual regular mail address and making actual contact with the potential former employee. The third step is to send a biography questionnaire by email or regular mail. The fourth and most important step is to follow up with reminder emails and phone calls until you get a response with a completed biography questionnaire and a current picture. The fifth and final step is to take the information from the bio questionnaire and develop a new page for the former employee and place it on the Website. If you look at the names and the numbers on the opposite side of the thermometer, you'll see the approximate oder in which the people were put on the Website. The yellow group shows the order that the people we contacted and when the biography questionnaires were sent out. A concerted effort is being made by several core people to encourage the people currently in the yellow group to respond and send their bios and pictures.
